wow. i am FULL - from yummy, FREE, malaysian food. =) went for this reception in the malaysian high commissionners place in hampstead, which was held in conjunction with the agong's birthday. more like an excuse for a party. but hey, if we're going to be invited and fed with good food - bring it on! ;)
went with winston, and his vice - azril, i think, and his sec, whose name i can't remember. tong something? amir flew back on wednesday, sha was going for a destiny's child concert with riza - so i'm glad winston decided to go...otherwise i'd have missed out on this! we felt really akward when we first got there. no, wait. to be more accurate, we felt really young. haha. met fuzz there as well. the place was really lovely, the garden was to.die.for. i've never seen such a nice garden, complete with all kinds of flowers and plants. mmmm, nice. the food was also oh-so-good. satay ("air flown from kajang", yeah right), laksa, roti jala, curry, beehoon, and some kuihs. the best was the satay. hardly any fat, and so tender! =)
met some people, whose names i forgot the moment i was introduced to them. and this hotshot from petronas was there too...weirdly, there was no one there from king's or any of the other london universities. i wonder why. one of the guests did mention that these receptions are usually really packed, but it was nice this time around as it wasn't overly crowded.
the only thing i regret about today is that i couldn't take as many photos of the garden as i would have liked to. people would have thought i was mad - especially since there were menteris there. bah. hahaha. i did manage to take a few though...i guess some is better than none.
oh, and it is freaking hard to walk in a kebaya. i found out that the length of each stride i take is definitely not suitable for kebayas, and probably not for long skirts either. ;)
french open 2005: i wish i had access to a sports channel right now. sigh. federer lost to nadal in the semis, so nadal will meet this guy called puerto in the final tomorrow. nadal is going to win. boo. i wanted federer to win - this was the only one he hasn't won!!! arggghhhhh. but i think he didn't play all that well, according to the news. but on the bright side, henin is SO back in the game. she beat mary pierce 6-1, 6-1 in just over an hour. and she only returned to tennis 3 months ago. i think she has won her last 4 tournaments since returning - she lost in the quarter finals of the first tournament. she'll definitely regain her no 1 spot, provided she doesn't get that viral illness again. hopefully she'll win wimbledon, and she'll complete a grand slam!
