My summer so far.

Hmmm. I've been eating, sleeping, watching a LOT of television (not including stuff on my computer!) and simply lazing around most of the time. But there are so many things to watch! Especially this week , with the Wimbledon finals coming up this weekend. Oh please, please: don't let Sharapova win. I can't stand her grunting, as they call it. Apparently the decibels of her grunting (I call it shrieking) are similar to that of a light aircraft landing/taking off, I can't remember exactly. Word has it that some of these players actually take grunting LESSONS to perfect their grunting techniques - to use them to annoy their opponents. And if that is the case, it's a brilliant strategy. I can never bring myself to watch Sharapova play as it is toture to my ears. If you haven't heard her, you should try. I thought Serena was bad, but I was wrong. Don't get me wrong though, Sharapova can play (unlike Kournikva who never won a Major) - but the grunting just gets on my nerves. Oh well, I guess I'm a little bit upset that Henin was upset in the FIRST ROUND!! I wanted her to win, dammit!

Update: Yes! Sharapova lost to Venus. The way Venus is playing, she'll probably win the title. We'll see, I guess. =) But yay!

I've also been watching excessive episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S every day. =) My task this summer is to download every episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, all ten seasons of them. The show never fails to make me laugh!! And in my defence, my parents enjoy watching it too. Hahaha.

Not to mention ELR, The Apperentice, Charmed (by the way, if anyone watched the Season 7 finale, can you please tell me how they are going to handle the whole "body/look change thing" in the next season, with the same actresses contracted?). Yeah, yeah. I do realise that I'm coming off like a major couch potato. But I am on holiday after all... ;)

I've been shopping a few times since I got back, and it has been fun!! Though the part when you hand over cash or swipe your card isn't all that fun. And I should never go shopping with Yee Vonne, who is a horrible influence on me. Sometimes.

CBM had this Hari K thing last Saturday, and I got roped into helping out. Actually, mum volunteered my services. So, being the nice person that I am, I dragged Dollie, Pei Lian and Hui Yin along to help. After those 2 days, I could have balked at the thought of making pizzas and folding pizza boxes. Trace, cut, fold. Phew. I think we made about 80 boxes in total, and nearly 100 pizzas. It was quite weird being in the bilik masakan again after so many years though. Things have changed.

Hari K 2005

It did bring back nice memories though. All those Canteen Days, with all of us kiasu pots trying to sell our food at oh-so-expensive prices. Our popcorn (Vern Jou and Pn Lau's "honey"), the coconut water, satay, burgers (when we cut each piece of meat into half to make more burgers), iced lemon tea....it seems like ages ago! we did notice that the students are now less kiasu. nothing like us, we would force people to buy our stuff simply because we wanted to make the most money. haha. that doesn't make us sound like very nice people...but i assure you, we are! just don't ask us to sell anything. =)

Sunday (26th) was mum's, Hui Yin's and Shaz's birthday(s). Which is why I never forget Hui Yin and Shaz's birthdays. Hahaha. I arranged these roses dad bought for mum in a heart shape - which took me ONE HOUR. =) But I was so proud of it!! Mum was like...yeah, only you will spend so much time doing these kind of things. Of course. =) We went out for dinner with Tua Ee and the rest, and later decided that the restaurant was only so-so....they changed cooks. =(

The next birthday was Max's, on the 29th. He's 4 now. And I have to laugh when I look back at that time when dad and mum announced that we'd be getting a puppy for Su-fen. I was SO against it - I hated my aunts dogs, and they hated me too (at least I'm pretty sure they did). But I don't regret it, not one bit of it all. =) I'm so glad my sis asked for a puppy!!

We celebrated Hui Yin's birthday last night, along with Pei Lian, Dollie, Yuan, Xian, Jenny and Elaine. Which was then followed by a trip to Miss Lim's house...we had to wait for her to finish her tuition class...so we waited in the playground nearby, and started taking photos whilst feeeding the mosquitos. As Pei Lian said, reliving our childhood - especially both of us and Xian, and all the stupid games we used to play in the park.

I originally wanted to post some photos from last night, but I haven't uploaded them in fear of my computer running out of space. (Muffy, you know how huge my pictures are, ahahaha.) Really need an external hard drive!

I then attempted to bake a cake when I got back from the restaurant. I used the same recipe Ashleigh used for the cake she baked in Schafer..and it turned out ok, I guess. Not bad for a first try. =) loads of chocolate, and NO flour. Hahahahaha. *the calories* The recipe contained too much sugar though! Madness. Mum said you could get hyperglycaemia from eating a slice. And I agree. I mean, I have a sweet tooth, but that was a bit TOO sweet. Mad Americans and their sweet sweet recipes. I had fun though, and I'm just going to bake throughout the holidays - just for fun. My next "project" is pavlova, which mum likes. I'm probably going to screw that one up as it's super hard, but a girl's gotta start somewhere, right? =)

Ah, and it's Dad's birthday today.
