a looong overdue update =)

yes, yes. sorry to all of you who have been coming here, only to see the same post...which is nearly 2 weeks old now. haha. but i have been really busy since then. (this includes catching up on a week of near-sleeplessness by sleeping all day since i got back home)

last monday and tuesday was spent shopping, talking, eating, and brassica napus essay-ing. wednesday was spent packing for both paris and home. i didn't sleep on wednesday night, and i think ash didn't either. but i can't say that for miss sim li kun, who was snoring away like a pig. ;) we left in a total hurry on that morning, to catch the 24 bus. we just made it, and there was confusion on the bus as li kun thought the fare was 40p, when it was actually £1.20. 40p is the child fare (which is admittedly, what i use a lot of the time). anyway, it was probably a blessing in disguise, as we needed to stall the bus driver...to enable hua and sato to make it to the bus stop on gower street (see? i'm not always the late one!) however, we missed the last connecting bus from trafalgar square to waterloo due to our "stalling tactics". i was getting seriously worried that we would miss our eurostar train, but we managed to get on another bus, which stopped near the station. and there were no availabe taxis...the guy on the phone told me: all i can say is good luck. idiot. but it all turned out well, thankfully. we even got to see a wonderful close-up view of the london eye on our "walk". i regret not bring able to take any photos though...at that point, we were all more concerned about making it to the station on time.

then next 4 days were spent in paris...and i'll post a seperate update on it...errm...sometime in the next few days. i hope.

sunday night was spent frantically packing for home - and once again, i didn't sleep. ASH dear. you said on your blog that you didn't sleep on sunday night. well, you did. i have photos. :D

monday basically consisted of more packing, and reduced easter egg hunting. nice. likun left at 12pm (in search of her McD's curry chicken burger...and her bus), while ash, grace and i wandered about for a while. ash and i left an hour late, as i had yet to finish my pakcing. we took the bus back (with a used travelcard, and a carnet) - and i managed to fall asleep in that short journey. haha. then again, i was really sleep deprived at the time. i think i was sleep deprived from the day likun came to london.

we had a very "rojak-style" lunch: interpreted as my desperate attempts to finish off my food. ash did the cooking...while i packed.

the remaining hours passed in a blur of packing and rushing to make the 105/205? bus to paddington. and i wouldn't have been able to lug my incredibly heavy bag from schafer to the bus stop if not for jeff. thank you, jack! =) and when i got to paddington, my millies cokies paper bag just had to tear (i accidentally knocked it down while carrying my huge ass bag onto the train). the very nice guy standing outside the train did manage to get me a temporary bag though - a clean garbage bag. =) and he told me to go to the front of the train as i would have to walk less when i got to heathrow. i'm glad english people are so nice. unlike the french. bah. (but that's another story).

i then had to worry about my very overweight hand luggage: ash said to "maybe give it to someone", wheras hua was like "hide it from the person". it turned out fine though...the lady didn't even ask if i had any hand luggage. phew.

i fell asleep about 10 minutes after i got on the plane - which is an improvement from the last time i flew home (i fell asleep the moment i slumped down in my seat, and didn't even wear my seatbelt!) i still had no idea when the plane started moving though. ;) but i always manage to wake up for the meals...those were the only times i was awake on this flight, believe it or not.

it really is so nice to be home. i have my family around - max is following me around all the time, and not giving me any peace (but i'm not really complaining...) i don't have to worry about laundry and food. sighhh.

it's good to be home. =)
