a rather interesting week..

or should i say "happening". hahahaha. ;)

the best news shall come first. my camera is actually working again!! it truly is a miracle! it was still screwed up when i got it back from nikon (i asked them to just send it back to me as it was so expensive to get ut repaired) - but when i switched off the camera, the lens swivelled back in. encouraged by the normal position of the lens, i began to think that it was perhaps possible for my camera to recover. so i left it alone for about a week...and when i tried it out on thursday night...around 3am - it worked! no system error message! i can still remember the insane grin on my face. it really made my day! =D and i proceeded to announce it to everyone who was signed in to msn at the time. obviously...we need to spread joy to people all around us. ;)

this week has also been focussed on a lot of netball. we had practices on wednesday and friday. however, i only played for 10 minutes on wednesday - as michelle decided she would take me out by knocking her head against mine, while killing my specs in the process. hahahaha. so i was basically blind for the next 3 hours or so. and i had to attend this meeting with some ambank guy, who talked waaaaay too much. it was actually quite funny, as i still hadn't gotten my glasses repaired at that time (i went for it right after netball, and 20/20)...so i basically was walking around seeing everything as a very hazy blur. so, when i got to the lower refectory - i had NO idea where all of them were. so i called amir...only to realize that i was actually directly facing their table. very embarassing. amusing for the other 4 though. but the meeting lasted for nearly 2 hours. so i had to look at that sha-whatever guy without actually knowing what he looked like. fantastic experience. as if.

and, yesterdays practice was even more tiring. we played with the ucl msoc football team. the guys were so fast, so tall, and so good. and they were really enjoying themselves!!! they were even saying things like "oh my god..don't pass to jun linn!" and "jun linn...don't shoot!". hahaha. but it was definitely a very funny - but exhausting 2 hour practice. but our guys can play netball man. they are so damn good. and fast.

yesterday's london games was fun, although we didn't win a single match. =( we lost to ucl singsoc, king's, and lse....but drew with ic. the WA of lse actuallty went up to shar to complain about too much "contact" - she was saying something like "netball is a non-contact sport right? this game is all contact, contact, contact". complete with a bitchy look on her face. and i was playing WD at the time, so yeah. but ucl singsoc won...so i'm really happy. the next best thing to us not winning, i guess.

but oh my god. the netball courts were appaling. it was in this ghetto like area, in zone 2. very dodgy. and our netball courts were situated under this flyover - which was also slightly "leaky" in certain areas...andrea got some "stuff" on her hair. yuck. i wonder why ic sing soc couldn't find a better place to put all of us. plus all the venues were very spread out.

we went to hampstead for lunch - by we i mean me, hw, michelle, em and agnes. i never realized hampstead was so so pretty! i took quite a few photos. and i am not exaggerating when i say i was really so happy to have my camera back with me. functioning as normal, might i add. =) ahhhh, the joy. come to think of it, our lunch was far from healthy. we had crepes (there actually is a hampstead branch of the creperie in south ken!), followed by pastries in maison blanc (me and agnes), and haagan dazs (mich and hw). we justified all the calories by saying that we'd exercised a lot in the past few days. ;)

i also did something i never thought i would do on thursday. you know what i'm referring to. and even though it was a bit scary, i'm glad i did what i did. i never thought it would happen. thanks for being so understanding - it must have been hard, considering what i was implying. =) but i haven't had the chance to do what i said i would try to...yet.

li kun is also here now. she's actually sitting at my desk, reading sociology....while i'm lazing about on my bed typing this entry. SHIT. i need to do my gm crops essay, it's due on wednesday. oh well, a little intelligent copying and pasting should do the trick. ;)

anyway, she arrived last night....i went to greet our royal highness at warren street, with hua n sato. we waited quite a while for her, so sato decided he would kill time by taking photos and a video. and we managed to capture li kun's arrival! hahahahahaa, i think everyone else thought we were a bit mad. oops. we talked for quite a while last night, even though i was so exhausted...and had lunch in garfunkel's today - with jeff, quah and winston. our bbq platter for 2 was humoungous. but yummy. ;D which was (obviously) followed up with a retail therapy session. bought a skirt. =) i had to leave after a while though, for a study session at andrea's with andrea, hw, and zy. and this lasted for 6 hours...where each of us only did one lecture each. oh yes, i forsee great things for my finals. crap. biochemistry sucks.

i also met up with su phei and suan ee ee (and friend) last night. come to think of it, no wonder i was so tired last night - i woke up at 7.30 for netball (on time for once thanks to wueny's call), then went to waterloo for dinner, and came back and had a looong chat with likun. but i'm not complaining....it was good to see both of them. 3 of them were complaining that the portions were so big, and there i was, saying: but i can finish this, no problem. hahahahahaha. no wonder my face is so freaking ROUND now.

the weather is also improving - we had the most amazing weather from thursday to saturday. but after 3 days of bliss, the weather gods decided that they didn't really want people to be wearing skirts and losing the winter jackets just yet. so they brought back the winds. oh, come on! i just hope the weather in paris will be fantastic. =)

and now to continue working on my essay...
did i mention i'm aching all over?
