no longer "terrorised"
the weekend has gone by in a very hazy blur. yee vonne and muffy came down for ic's malaysian night, and decided that i was the best person to terrorise during their 2 day stay in london. at least i know 3 people can sleep on the bed (and chairs!) without much difficulty. =)
but despite the horror i had to endure (haha), it was great meeting both of them again. i haven't seen yv since her last london trip...since
someone doesn't want to come over to the so-called "unhappening" side of penang. nonsense. it was really fun catching up with both of them - i think i know quite a few sheffield names now. i think. we didn't go out on friday night, simply because i was too lazy to vacate my wonderfully warm and comfortable position on my bed. and it was really chilly outside. so, we decided to "chill" (ahem) indoors. jeff was in my room as well. after talking for a while, both jeff and miaomiao decided that they needed some private time together...and subsequently spent 2 hours in jeff's room. and apparently jeff now owes yv a diamond ring. ohh-kay. we also looked through the old concord photos and videos. i miss concord life so much. watching the videos just reminded me of all the fun we used to have - i'm just glad i have them all on video. =) especially ramz's insane laugh.
we finally made it to portebello market on saturday, after muffy's valiant attempts to wake me and yv up the next morning. in our defence, both of us were up talking till 6am. portebello is really cool...i bought a pair of white earings (finally!), and a cd for mum. plus a muffin, cake and the delicious german bonesless chicken thing, whatever it was called. i walked with yv, and we were so slow that muffy and jeff managed to walk around the same spot 2 times, and still ended up being ahead of us. what can i say? we're very careful shoppers. ;) rushing through simply will not do. in the end, we only ended up seeing about 40% of portebello, as we had to meet wy to get our tickets...and it was also freezing cold.
we then proceeded to harrods, to get the oh so yummylicious krisy kremes. plus a free sample, of course. =) i think i probably gained weight over the weekend at the rate i was eating.
ic's malaysian night was unfortunately, as good as it was rumoured to be. unfortunate for ucl, that is. but as someone pointed out, ic has established their name in the m'sian night "field", whereas ucl only started having m'sian nights a few years ago. i absolutely LOVED the bhangra. shockingly amusing. HAHAHAHA. i can just imagine what it must have been like for em, who told me that tao was dancing the bhangra in their flat. free entertainment. =) and shanti, who happened to be hw's upland schoolmate. hilarious.
my marrh-ton curry also become sour (complete with indian accent)...wonderful! i also thought the opening dance was really cool. never knew wince could do this kind of dance. and
ash dear, it was your darling nicole who cheoreographed the opening dance. ahem. but she
is a fantastic dancer - she was in one of the indian dances, and she was the best by far. =) and apparently a fantastic teacher as well. so she can't be all that bad...or can she? one thing which stood out about ic's m'sian nite was the cultural diversity of the entire play, something which was lacking in ours. next year.
i have to admit that it was like a mini concord reunion though. there were so many of us there...me, yv, muffy, yong, jeff, yj, j.low, karina, jas, yu yhong, wee yow, khoon li, yvonne, sebastian, and a few other people. but it was fun. we (me, yv, muffy, yong, jeff, sebastian, khoon li n yj) then went for a late dinner in chinatown after two million years of dawdling. this was of course, followed by an all-nighter in wy's room. we played "tai ti" - where the loser with the most card had to either drink a shot of vodka or an entire bottle of water. jeff lost the most (i have to wonder if it was done on purpose though...hmmm). hahahaha. i only drank 3 times, but i still got my rash. dammit. maybe i do need to give up alcohol. i'll never get the chance to get drunk, ever. but that's good...i think. ;) i also tried my hand at pro evo - although i was totally clueless, we still managed to win on penalties!! it's fun. can't wait to play again...(i can just imagine wy wincing in horror at the thought of all of us in his room again) the only thing which would have made it perfect would have been the mahjong set, which was in kw's place.
i think the only thing that sucked about the weekend was the fact that i didn't have a camera of my own. but at least i'll have quite a few photos, once muffy and miaomiao send them to me. *hint, hint*
the next week is going to be a busy one. i have my pds essay about stupid transferable skills due this friday and my gm crops essay next wednesday. i also have netball tomorrow, plus some nonsense meeting with some people from ambank (wth?). su phei n suan ee ee are coming to london on thursday. likun will be here on friday till we leave for paris. ying may possibly stay with me during the weekend as well. ash will come along sometime between the 19th and 22nd (you know, that's
so helpful). and london games is on saturday. i forsee a very productive week in terms of catching up on the past 2 weeks of this module. oh yes.
and it is now time for my snooze...before i meet shasa later on.
how would i survive without naps?? =)
