sigh. i have to do some SEWING later...something i am totally inept at. i mean, i was hopeless at the kh projects we had to in secondary school, and i doubt things have changed much since then. oh well. hahaha. i'll have to do it if i don't want my costume to look different from the rest. [but i am SO lazy]
anyway...the preparations for malaysian night are full steam now. well, it should be, seeing as we have less than 24 hours left. the play is actually really funny!!! hahahaha. it's SO exaggerated that you just can't help but laugh. with all the "gay" guys in their colourful shirts and all. wonder if they'll get all the props sorted out...the stage is really bare. oh well. but at least i helped with the props, a bit. *grins* went over to elle's place after my ssm to help out, where i found out who someone's "jm" was - i originally thought he was singaporean!!. hahahahahahaha.
i just hope tomorrow night/tonight will go well (so that the ic people can't laugh at us), and that everyone will have a place to sit (apparently the staff don't want to allow us to use the circle seats, which means that quite a number of people will end up standing). but it's amazing how many other malaysians i didn't know!! i'm just going to say it's the society's fault, as they don't really have any gatherrings etc....so how on earth are we supposed to get to know everyone that way? sighhhh. don't know what kind of society we are. sad sad sad.
oh. and chinese new year is over. =( how sad...i now have to take down all my decorations. but on the bright side, i get to redecorate!! haha. anyway, we had a chap goh meh dinner in keong wee's place - we figured, since we started chinese new year there, we might as well end it there as well. it was basically the same old london people, minus winston who wanted to be antisocial and not hang out with us. hahahahaha. nah. wince has been "sufferring" and sacrifcing his time for the ic malaysian night, and so could not come. apparently. anyway, we cooked kimchi fried rice, spring rolls and "mee fen kuih" with the ikan bilis soup thing. we also played mahjong and tai ti. naturally. though we may not have been able to play mahjong if not for wwy, who brought the set over. andrea was using her set...(what's new? haha).
snowstorms were also predicted for last wednesday. snowstorm???? the snow doesn't even settle, it melts as soon as it touches the ground. how could we have a snowstorm?? it just shows how inaccurate weather predictions are. but it has snowed quite a lot (relative to none, anything is a lot) over the past few days...it was snowing when we were on our way to the dance show. which was horrible, coz the snow was getting into our eyes, and it was wet. and cold. yikes.
but it was worth it "braving" the snow, as the show was really good. "showdown". =) went with hua, andrea, hw, jeni and zy. for a university production, those girls (very few guys) ROCKED. i especially loved their finale dance, performed to "shout". it's so nice to see a whole big group of people dancing on stage...unlike normal performances when there are only a handful of people. there should always be finale's with the whole cast doing a dance...haha. makes for good viewing. they also had this dance called "all that jazz", and they had a girl playing a saxophone as accompaniment...very cool! their outfits were pretty much very good as well - but i think hua didn't like them much! haha. she said they were too revealing, and that she only enjoyed the finale. i guess we're all entitled to our own opinions. =) the costumes were revealing, but this is just the way it's done over here. plus, it would lose its effect if they dressed errm...decently. *grins* but i do have to admit that some dances weren't as nice, but i enjoyed it overall. the rest did too. ohhh, and we saw puteri tap dancing. ;)
watching it does make you want to take part it somehting like that though...maybe one year. haha. if i can actually make it through the auditions...all the girls are so good. they actually had an indian dance last night (SO reminded me of aarthi!)...maybe they should have a chinese element in it too, like a fan dance. hahahaha. like our pink ladies, with the ever-so-cheesy "fans ablaze".
i was looking through some of my concord photos last night, and it made me really miss the place. and most of all, the people. sighhh. i really want to go back with a whole group of people, but it's becoming an impossibility, with all our different shedules. i might go down on the 11th though, with jeff and yv. and come back in time for the ic malaysian night on the 12th. we're still waiting for my darling miao miao, who still doesn't know what her shedule is like.
ok. i'd better get down to some sewing... *i hope i don't screw it up*
jas: yeahhh...khoon li told me that it came out for you guys before, but i thought he meant the summer exam. only realised it was your latest exam when faz/fadzli told me. they were making us suffer for skipping the sociology lectures, i'm sure of it!!
