it has gone off SO many times this term that i've totally lost count.
and, the best thing is...it goes off at totally inane times of the day. it was 12am-ish alarms at first..then it became 2.30am-ish alarms...then it turned into early morning false alarms. it has been set off for the past two nights: at 5am on friday night, and around 6.30am this morning. the thing that pisses me off most is that it went off today just as i wanted to go to bed.
and it went on..and on...and on. probably coz the firemen were totally pissed off at all the schafer students. apparently, people have been deliberately setting off the fire alarm the past few times. the firemen actually found burning bits of paper, broken glass of the fire alarm...blah blah blah. negin said the firemen were actually shouting the other day, and were threatening to call the police...as it was considered as arson.
anyway. i obviously didn't go down this morning when it went off. but it didn't stop as quickly as it usually does. which made me a little anxious..like..what if it's a real fire? i kept on going to the window to sniff the air. jeff called me...but we decided to just stay in. quite rightly so. it finally got switched off around half an hour later...but i only heard my flatmates come back nearly 40 minutes later. last night they were punished for 15 minutes. looks like they extended it to 40 minutes today.
who are these complete assholes who are set off the fire alarm for the fun of it? if i knew who they were...i swear they wouldn't be alive right now. and i assure you every other person in schafer will be thinking the same thing. and it's really bad, as no one is going to care if a real fire alarm actually goes off. as ashleigh said, everyone is beginning to think "fuck it, it's another false alarm...who cares?". which would explain why there are so few people outside when they go off (according to ashleigh and negin..i wouldn't know, would i?).
and after it stopped, i was so annoyed that i couldn't sleep.
just so you get an idea of how it feels like when the fire alarm is set off every other day- at the most inappropiate times of the day, i'm posting a "why i hate the schafer fire alarm collage" picture here. they say a picture speaks a thousand words.
i ended up doing that instead of sleeping. how nice.
but it's quite relaxing and therapeutic...hahaha. i'm definitely ready to sleep now. =)
and i need to invest in some high quality earplugs....
